A welcome return for sales executive

We have strengthened our sales team with a new appointment.

Sue Walton has returned to The Expanded Metal Company as a telephone sales executive, 33 years after she first worked in the firm’s export department under a Youth Training Scheme.

In her new role, Sue, who is from Trimdon, will generate new business opportunities in key target markets promoting the company’s full portfolio of metal mesh products to current and prospective clients.

Sue brings more than 27 years of sales expertise to The Expanded Metal Company, having previously worked across order administration, customer service, production planning and internal sales roles at powder coatings specialist, Axalta Coatings Systems. She also worked as an administrator at Durham Skills Centre.

A highly experienced sales professional, Sue holds two National Vocational Qualifications (level 2) in customer service and ITQ, and has completed a number of training courses – including strategic selling – across the UK, Sweden and Belgium.

Commenting on her appointment, Sue Walton said: “I am delighted to be returning to the Expanded Metal Company after 33 years. The company is very much part of the landscape of Hartlepool and the opportunity to work here one again was really exciting.

“The company has an enviable reputation as a manufacturer and I am looking forward to utilising my sales experience to promote its metal mesh products.”

Philip Astley, managing director at The Expanded Metal Company added: “It is fantastic to welcome Sue back to The Expanded Metal Company after 33 years. Sue is highly experienced in her field and brings with her a wealth of knowledge.

“The Expanded Metal Company has ambitious growth plans and Sue’s addition to the team will continue to strengthen our approach in key target markets including construction, engineering, filtration, architecture, manufacturing, security, utilities and transport.”
