The Expanded Metal Company welcomes new apprentice
We have taken on a new apprentice as part of our ongoing commitment to developing our workforce.
Tiegan Cranney has joined The Expanded Metal Company team and will be supported by our experienced staff, who have a strong track record of mentoring apprentices and developing careers.
Tiegan attends Hartlepool College of Further Education, where she is working towards a Business Administration and Customer Service Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.
Combined with classroom-based learning, the apprenticeship programme will help Tiegan gain hands-on experience and skills within our sales team, where she will focus on sales processing, customer service and business administration.
Commenting on her apprenticeship, Tiegan said: “The apprenticeship has helped me gain confidence in speaking to customers over the phone and data entry, and it has strengthened my overall knowledge of The Expanded Metal Company and what we offer.
“I believe that apprenticeships are an amazing gateway into work environments. They provide opportunities for individuals to enter the workforce, giving them knowledge of products and processes, while also allowing them to work towards a qualification.”
Commenting on the apprenticeship programme, Philip Astley, managing director of The Expanded Metal Company, said: “We are proud to play our part in developing the UK manufacturing sector through our apprenticeship programme.
“Our programme has been running for a number of years and I’m delighted we can continue to provide opportunities for young people in our local community. The apprenticeship programme is a vital component in our workforce development strategy and is helping us to build for the future.
“It is fantastic to have Tiegan on board and I look forward to seeing her develop at The Expanded Metal Company.”
