ExMesh™ security products featured in national horticultural show
We were delighted to support the Royal Horticultural Society Garden Hyde Hall Flower Show this summer, where our security specialist Paul Whitton demonstrated our ExMesh™ security products.
From July 31 – August 4, The Expanded Metal Company exhibited at the ‘Safe and Secure’ model garden, where we displayed Securilath™ products and expanded metal window guards, and Paul showed visitors how to effectively protect their gardens and outbuildings.
The ‘Safe and Secure’ crime prevention garden was a collaboration between Essex Police, Secured by Design and RHS Garden Hyde Hall.
Secured by Design is a police initiative that improves the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to provide safe places to live, work, shop and visit. Working with Essex Police Designing Out Crime team – who seek to incorporate a crime prevention programme into the built environment and create defensible space – Secured by Design hosted the Safe and Secure garden to raise awareness of security challenges and solutions.
Paul Whitton said: “It was fantastic to be able to bring our specialist knowledge to the show along with Secured by Design and Essex Police’s Designing Out Crime team.
“Expanded metal mesh can be used in multiple security applications to protect gardens, outbuildings and equipment – and this was a fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate to delegates how our products can boost security.”
Managing director of The Expanded Metal Company, Philip Astley, said: “As a manufacturer whose security products are certified by Secured by Design, it was a pleasure to be able to attend the event and provide our expertise to delegates.
“We work closely with industry partners to create solutions that can keep property secure in a range of sectors and we’re proud to have been involved in a show of this scale.”
We recently collaborated with Rural Crime Police Officers to raise awareness of how expanded metal mesh can be used in security solutions.
We also have a long history of producing security solutions, such as security fencing, cages, anti-climb measures and Securilath™, which can be used as part of a layered security strategy for farms and other rural businesses. Read our blog on rural crime to find out more.
